Your membership here is important.

It's more than just signing a piece of paper.  It's more than just standing up  and saying a few words.  It's about finding your unique place here in the family of God known as St. Luke.  There are different ways to join and different types of membership.  Below are different forms of membership that can be pursued in a variety of ways.  If you are interested, please contact the church office at (864) 638-3628.

A Full Member - Professes their faith in the Trinity (God, the Father Almighty, Jesus, the Christ, and the Holy Spirit). Commits his/her prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness to the church. Is officially added to the membership records of St. United Methodist Church. Has been baptized. Can vote and participate in church business.

An Affiliate / Associate Member - Affiliate and Associate Memberships convey all rights, privileges, benefits and responsibilities with the exception of being able to serve as a member of the Church Council (the policy making body in each congregation of The United Methodist Church).

Affiliate Membership enables one to leave their Full Membership with another congregation of The United Methodist Church; an Associate Membership enables one to leave their Full Membership with a congregation of some other denomination.

A Preparatory Member - Is preparing for full membership in the church. Has been baptized, but not confirmed. Is under the age of 19.

A Constituent Member - Regularly attends and gives support to the church. Has not made the additional commitments of becoming a full member.
